I moved here after my husband passed away. My family did not want me to live alone. I moved to The Terraces in January of this year. The first two months were a blur to her because I was adjusting to life without my husband. But I was happily surprised that I was welcomed with open arms by everyone, I couldn’t believe there was a place like this. I enjoy socializing, reading, and exercising. All of which I do on a daily basis. If there is a movie of interest playing in the movie theater I will watch it as well. I find The Terraces to be a friendly community which is what I like best. The staff is outstanding. If someone asked my opinion about moving here, I would tell them don’t hesitate!

It’s great for me to be here! I’ve known the management team; Kelly, Wendy, and Hope almost since the start of my volunteer career at Seacrest Village in 1985 which makes me so comfortable. I’m very happy here and I love my apartment, I think it’s the best one in the house!” Janice Bennet (Janice is The Terraces at Seacrest Village Resident Council President. She has been a resident of The Terraces since 2020 and has been an area resident since 1985.)

I moved into The Terraces at Seacrest Village 3 months ago. I was lonely at home and finding my day-to-day routine was becoming harder to manage. At first I was reluctant to make the move. I have poor vision so therefore new environments can be overwhelming for me. I quickly realized that wouldn’t be a problem. My days are spent out and about. I attend programs and socialize with everyone. I enjoy the discussion groups the most. I have made so many new friends. I was welcomed by other residents immediately. I feel a strong sense of community because it is a supportive and friendly place. The staff is all always so helpful. My advice to others considering assisted living…. don’t wait!

At first, I felt frightened because I didn’t know what to expect. But I quickly made friends and became at ease. I was surprised how active I could be here. I enjoy discussion groups, watching movies, and exercising. I also enjoy my quiet time reading. I now know most everyone and feel like this is where I needed to be. I am very independent but I know the staff is always willing to help me if I need it. My favorite memory happens each week in the movie theater – watching classic black and white films. It reminds me of my youth. Everything you need and want is at your fingertips.
